Privileges For Real Estate Developers

Iraq, a country that it regarded as one of the worst hit nations due to terrorism and wars is now on the path of development. With peace getting restored and the country's life coming back to normal, the government is working overtime to make the country a place worthy to live in. In an effort to place the development on a fast track, the government has come out with some regulations which give the developers certain set of privileges to make the whole process a lot easier. Some of these regulations are enumerated in the following points.

1)Both, the Iraqi and the foreign nationals have the right to buy or acquire land from their rightful owners for the sum of money that they mutually agreed upon. There should be no discrepancy in the process and the all speculations would be heard by the court of law. The institution sees both the foreigners and the nationals alike as far as the development of the residential colonies is concerned. Once the construction is complete and the houses are ready to move it, they would be allocated to the people of the nation on ownership basis.

2)All investment that is brought into Iraq is subject to tax deductions by the government of Iraq after the payment of which, they can be converted into Iraqi currency and can be used for the purpose they were brought for. This can be done with the central bank of Iraq which is responsible to carry out such deeds.

3)All investors have the right to float their shares in the market and participate in the buying and selling of the other shares. This comes with the thought of increasing the amount of foreign investment getting inside the country. By being able to participate in such activities, they are expected to make collaborations with the other companies thereby carrying out the activities in a more profound manner.

4)All properties which are leased from the owner to anyone has to be done keeping in mind that the project to be started should be of the national interest of the republic of Iraq and the renewal period has to be a maximum of 50 years.

5)They have the right to open their bank accounts in the various banks of the country and are allowed to carry out all the necessary transactions. If wanted, one can also choose to avail the services of a bank outside the country. To keep the interest of the developers, there is a provision under which they can get themselves insured against any loss with the insurance company of their choice.

After reading the abovementioned points, no developer would find any difficulties in deciding whether they would be able to keep their share of interests alive. The only thing the Iraqi government wants in return for all of these is a decent standard of housing made available and the workers employed in the construction work be of Iraqi nationality. Other can be employed only if a qualified Iraqi for that position is not available.
